BLACK VETERANS WEEKEND INFO

ABOUT BLACK VETERANS WKND

Welcome to The Black Veterans Weekend! We are an annual summit where members and supporters of the black veterans community can hire top talent and connect with diverse suppliers all in one event. Hosted by Army Veteran, Treazure Owens, Owner of MBE, WBE, and SDVOSB Treazure Marketing Consulting Company, Black Veterans Weekend is the premier destination for black veteran professionals, business owners, and our community supporters to connect and address business challenges such as access to financial capital, mentorship, and relevant information. This year marks our second year hosting the event, and in 2024, we are proud to partner with Sidney Covington of More Perfect Union and American Legion Post 478 Commander, Beverly Finch.

Depends on the reason why you are attending:

Business Certification Assistance - bring a computing device (laptop) with the required information for applications. See your email for more details.

Pitch Competition - bring 10 copies of your lean business plan and be prepared to conduct a 2 minute maximum pitch.

Job Seekers - bring 10 copies of your resume for review.

Veteran Business Supporter - Yourself and a plus one. =)

Note: We will have a printer for public use while supplies last.

LAST YEAR'S EXPERIENCE

Last year, we hosted interviews, built our content libraries, and held a Contracts & Cocktails happy hour. We spent the rest of the year, building the foundation of our Student Pathway Program; helped the Black Veteran Owned Chicago Business, Struggle Beard Bakery open their first brick and mortar location's doors on time despite their horrific experience with contractors; and continued to support one another's endeavors.
